Dehra Dun
I have heard many times from few friends that this place is awesome. The climate is pleasant almost throughout the year. A Small city surrounded by the marvelous forest and wildlife in it. I love to travel but never dreamt to visit Dehra Dun, till I got to know about the south Asia’s best institute for wildlife training, Wildlife Institute of India, and then I was eager to see both WII and Dehra Dun.
January 2008.
Waited for almost three years after first I have had hear of Dun & WII to come and visit Dehra Dun.

There were interviews for many projects in WII and I planned to attend one of them. At that time one of my teachers advised me to carry an umbrella and I was shocked. “In the month of January Umbrella?” , I thought, but I was wrong. To prove my teacher is right, rain welcomed me in my first visit to Dun. A sunny day with pleasant cold with temperature ranging between 5 – 10 degrees or maximum may be 15. I simply loved it.
February 2008
I joined WII in the midst of February. Weather was similar to last month, when I had come for an interview. But this time too, rain drenched me. Definitely it was not pouring, otherwise I would not have liked it; but it was drizzling. Month ended with getting familiarizing with WII and its beautiful – forested campus. City was yet to visit.
